March is National Nutrition Month

This month, the American Dietetic Association is sponsoring a national nutrition campaign encouraging those across the U.S. to “Eat Right with Color.” This month-long effort is designed to educate Americans about the importance of proper nutrition while focusing on the health benefits that foods of many colors can provide. The ADA claims that a simple way to start a healthy eating program is to add color to your meals. Yellow peppers, green spinach, red tomatoes, orange carrots, purple cabbage and many other vegetables are a perfect example of colorful vegetables that will add nutrients to meals. You can add color and nutrition to your daily diet with many money saving foods found in the bulk food aisle such as nuts, dried fruits and whole grains.
